1. Trying out Kagi

   Thanks to j98@fosstodon.org I’m continuing my Big Tech Exorcism™ by trialing the independent search engine Kagi (https://kagi.com/) for 3 months. Friends don’t let friends get tracked.

2. Adding some fun things to my website

   Reading @adactio@mastodon.social’s recent Going Offline post https://adactio.com/journal/21578 reminded me that I needed to fix my /offline/ page after I ported my site from Jekyll to Eleventy. I’ve also added j98@fosstodon.org and @trys@mastodon.social’s Utopia https://utopia.fyi albeit in a very minimal implementation. Of course now I want to refactor everything about my site!

7. Research by the Sea: A Research Plan

   I’ve approached curating the Research by the Sea conference as I would a research project, with a research plan. Read more about what you’ll expect to learn during the two days in Feb 2025 at Research by the Sea.

8. Adding events with Indiekit

   I’m now adding events I’m attending to my website with Indiekit. I’m really enjoying the process of learning more about the #IndieWeb and finding ways to improve my website. Next step is to look at syndicating via Mastodon.

9. Why we should stop saying underrepresented

   I found this an enlightening article. It makes a strong argument for the terminology we should use for describing inequalities in our society.

10. I deleted all my Tweets

    I temporarily reinstated my Xitter account and used this script to delete all my Tweets https://github.com/lucahammer/tweetXer. This house is clean!
