1. Coworking day at Brighton Projects Beach

   Spending a day at the gorgeous Brighton Projects Beach coworking space with @alpower@mastodon.social before heading off to UXup meetup.

2. Drastic measures

   I assume the desire for engagement metrics meant the simple method of sharing a podcast mp3 file via an rss feed was no longer viable. Well shenanigans to that! I’ve just thought of a ludicrous way to break podcast content out of its walled-garden so I can reliably point to a mp3 file.

3. I love the sound of sumo in the morning

   Having the sounds of the sumo tournament livestream in the background as I make breakfast and do morning chores is becoming a regular occurrence in our family home.

4. I watched the Wilding film, you should too

   I finally found an opportunity to watch the Wilding film and learn more about the Knepp Estate I visited a few weeks ago. Go see it and fill your heart with hope!

   

5. Working at Studio 52

   A beautiful day for working in sunny Studio 52. Fun, sun, good people and the best dog.

   Voted. Now nervously awaiting the results.

   

7. What people say and do: a visual metaphor

   Oh hi, don’t mind me, I’m just going to park this big red bus here as a visual metaphor to remind us that, when usability testing, to **focus on what people do** *rather than what they say*.

   

8. LinkedIn’s ‘Christopher Nolan’ timeline

   I’ve come to the conclusion that LinkedIn hired Christopher Nolan to design their timeline feed because it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

9. Sideways podcast discovery

   After a bit of a hiatus I’ve got back into listening to podcasts. I’m using an old iPhone 4s as a dedicated device for audio brain food which offers me zero notification distraction. I’m also using @adactio’s https://huffduffer.com/ which allows me to subscribe to my chosen feed of podcasts via RSS. What I like most about Huffduffer is that I discover content from other users where I wouldn’t necessarily be looking. It’s a constant delight!

10. I deleted my Instagram account

    Starting the slow process of removing myself and my data from these giant tech platforms.
